Windows User Account Control needs to be turned off for Sage Pastel and Pervasive to register correctly and apply the database licences. These background processes that get denied and can lead to error code 20, status 161, Pervasive error code 94 etc.

Follow the steps below to turn off the User Account Control

1. Type UAC in the search field on your taskbar. (If the search field isn't visible, right-click the Start button and choose Search.)
2. Click Change User Account Control settings in the search results.
3. To turn UAC off, drag the slider down to Never notify and click OK.
4. If prompted, confirm your selection or enter an administrator password.
5. If prompted, reboot your computer for the change to take effect.
